Empowering Dreams Through Education
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty by providing educational scholarships to girls and young women in Bangladesh, creating pathways to independence, leadership, and community transformation.

About our mission
Founded to address the educational barriers facing girls in rural and urban Bangladesh, WEB continues to expand opportunities for young women to pursue their academic dreams and build brighter
futures.
Why girls’ education?
We believe that educating girls creates opportunities for personal growth and independence. When a girl receives an education, she gains the knowledge and confidence to build a successful career and achieve her personal goals. Our commitment centers on removing financial barriers that prevent talented young women from completing their education.

Identifying needs
All of our scholarship programs arise from needs identified by local communities, schools, and families. We work directly with educators, community leaders, and families to understand the specific challenges girls face in accessing education. Our approach emphasizes listening to communities and responding with targeted support that addresses real barriers to learning.
Why Bangladesh?
Bangladesh is home to over 165 million people, with nearly half under the age of 25, yet many families still struggle with poverty and girls face additional cultural and economic barriers to education. While primary school enrollment for girls has improved dramatically, dropout rates increase significantly at the secondary level, with many bright, capable young women forced to abandon their studies just as they’re developing critical thinking skills and career aspirations.

Focus on individual success
Our scholarship program recognizes that education empowers individuals to achieve their full potential. We invest in each girl’s future as a professional, leader, or entrepreneur who can build the life she envisions for herself. Since 2022, we have focused on girls in Dhaka and rural communities in the Noluakuri area. We have since expanded to serve urban communities as well, adapting our approach to meet the diverse needs of girls across Bangladesh.
Bangladesh today
While Bangladesh has made significant progress in education and poverty reduction, many families still face difficult choices about schooling when resources are limited, and girls may face pressure to work or marry young. As attitudes gradually shift and more families prioritize their daughters’ education, our role is to provide the financial support that makes these dreams possible.

Areas of Focus
Our scholarship program addresses multiple barriers to girls’ education through targeted support in several key areas:
Academic scholarships
We believe that educating girls transforms entire communities. When a girl receives an education, she gains the knowledge and confidence to lift herself, her family, and her community out of poverty. Our commitment centers on removing financial barriers that prevent talented young women from completing their education.

Skills Development
Bangladesh is home to over 165 million people, with nearly half under the age of 25. Despite significant progress in recent decades, many families still struggle with poverty, and girls often face additional cultural and economic barriers to education. In rural areas, girls may be expected to work or marry young, while in urban areas, families may prioritize boys’ education when resources are limited.
